NECPS Upcoming Meetings & Events

Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center, the second Saturday of each month (except July), at 12:30pm and run for approximately 3 hours.

Meetings are free and open to the public, who are warmly welcomed.

Emily Troiano presents a talk on "The Relationships Between Carnivorous Plants and Insects"

The relationship between insects and plants is complex and multi-faceted. This is especially true in the case of carnivorous plants! Emily Troiano is working on her master's degree in entomology, and in this presentation she'll offer a slightly different perspective on the relationships that carnivorous plants have with our six-legged friends.

From the North: Go South on I-95
Take exit 17, Elmwood Avenue - Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on left Follow the signs to the Greenhouse/ Gardens. Look for the Botanical Center entrance across from the Mounted Command.

From the East: Go West on I-195 to I-95 South
Take exit 17, Elmwood Avenue - Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on left Follow the signs to the Greenhouse/ Gardens. Look for the Botanical Center entrance across from the Mounted Command.

From the South: Go North on I-95
Take Exit 16, Elmwood Avenue - Bear right - Left at light
Park entrance is 1/2 block on left Follow the signs to the Greenhouse/ Gardens. Look for the Botanical Center entrance across from the Mounted Command.


DIRECTIONS to University of Rhode Island (URI) by car:

From the north, take I-95 South to Exit 9 (Route 4 South) in RHODE ISLAND, follow Route 4 to Route 1 South. Stay on Route 1 until the intersection of Route 138 West. Route 138 West will bring you to the University.

From the south, take I-95 North to Exit 3A (Route 138 East). Continue east on Route 138 to the University.

From Newport, follow Route 138 West over the Newport and Jamestown bridges to Route 1. Take Route 1 South to Route 138 West. Follow Route 138 West to the University.
